
The General Secretariat for Equality and Human Rights (GSEHR) of the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family is the competent government body for the planning, implementation and monitoring of the implementation of policies for equality between women and men across all sectors.
The GSEHR implements the National Action Plan for Gender Equality (NAPGE) which is compiled on a five-year basis, in accordance to the respective European Strategy for Gender Equality and respective priorities at a national level. Each NAPGE includes strategic objectives and specialized actions for the promotion of gender equality.
The GSEHR participates in the FAIR PAY project as a coordinating body.

The Research Centre for Gender Equality (KETHI) is a Legal Entity under Private Law of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (General Government Body), which was founded in 1994, supervised by the General Secretariat for Family Policy and Gender Equality and is governed by a five-member Administrative Board.
- KETHI is activated dynamically in the promotion of gender equality in all sectors: social, political, cultural and economic life. Its aim is mainly on the elimination of gender discriminations and inequalities.
- KETHI promotes gender mainstreaming in all policies and actions, as well as the enhancement of positive actions for women, so as to contribute to the elimination of gender discriminations, stereotypes and inequalities.
- KETHI implements national policies and and institutional interventions aiming at promoting gender equality, as well as eliminating gender gaps into private and public life.
Objectives
- Support women who suffer from gender-based violence and/or multiple discriminations by providing counseling services.
- Enhance scientific knowledge by conducting researches and studies in the field of gender equality.
- Eliminate gender discrimination and inequalities, as well as strengthen women’s position through planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating action plans.
- Develop actions on gender equality issues at work, entrepreneurship and social inclusion, through the provision of documentation and information.
- Promote gender mainstreaming through the implementation of gender training activities.
- Promote gender equality, taking into consideration the dimensions of multiculturalism by undertaking relevant initiatives.
- Offer scientific and technical expertise in counseling for women and socially vulnerable groups, with a gender perspective.

WHEN | Equity · Empowerment · Change is an organization that aims to empower women professionally and promote gender equality in the workplace. It focuses on individual empowerment, through mentoring, training, community building, career and legal counseling, as well as on bringing about positive change in the social, work and economic environment in which we all grow, learn and work. To this end, it provides consulting and training to companies and organizations, conducts research to better understand the needs of women and the gaps in gender equality in Greece, formulates policy proposals and creates campaigns to raise awareness about the obstacles that women still face today in their equal participation in public life. In 2024, the organization created the WHEN Hub, the first hub for women’s empowerment and gender equality in Greece, which, among other things, provides creative play services for children 0-12, while their parents use the space to get trained, work, network and build their financial independence.

The Greek Association of Women Entrepreneurs (S.E.G.E.) is a pan-Hellenic, non-profit organization founded in 1997 and represents women who are active in business throughout Greece. With more than 1,800 active members, S.E.G.E. is the most important body supporting and empowering women entrepreneurs in the country.
S.E.G.E.’s mission is to create a favorable environment for the professional and personal development of women, with the aim of promoting female entrepreneurship, strengthening youth and start-up entrepreneurship, as well as supporting women belonging to vulnerable social groups.
S.E.G.E.’s main axes of action include:
- Consulting, training, mentoring and coaching for women entrepreneurs and young people who wish to start a business.
- Organisation of conferences, training programs and events for women’s empowerment.
- National and international networking for the exchange of experiences and the development of partnerships.
- Support for women belonging to vulnerable social groups aiming at their professional integration.
- Development of innovative actions, such as the first women’s energy community in Europe, WEnCoop.
S.E.G.E. has implemented over 20 European and international programs, training more than 10,000 women. At the same time, it actively participates in international networks, such as FCEM – FCEM Femmes Chefs D’Entreprises Mondiales, AFAEMME, WEConnect International, Balkan Women Coalition, promoting strategic partnerships and the exchange of best practices.
The recognition of S.E.G.E. as a best practice by the European Commission confirms its leading role in shaping policies and actions that promote gender equality and the development of female entrepreneurship in Greece and Europe.
